Coast-Link™ provides oil rigs, supply vessels and military ships with a local broadband solution so that these vessels are always connected around their home terminals and near coastlines.

Where is Coast-Link™ available?

Coast-Link™ is signaled from certain harbor and ports. These form the base stations for the bandwidth connection. Ships, rigs and large vessels can sail within a perimeter of 60 km to remain connected to these stations and to hold direct radio contact with the shore side office or to the harbor. Also, vessels can communicate with each other via broadband quality. The result? Offshore vessels are connected 24/7 via Coast-Link™. This enhances both business efficiency as well as crew welfare.

What do Coast-Link™ Maritime WiMAX services entail?

• We can set up all or one of thse three types of antennae for you: CPE GPS-Rotor tracked antenna system (for connectivity up to 60 km from the base station), the CPE Omni antenna (for connectivity up to 40km from the base station) and the USB laptop device (for connectivity up to 10km from the base station).
• Ships can sail within a certain area and always be connected for voice, data and Internet via the maritime WiMAX services
• Coast-Link™ Onboard Unit and satellite and backup as the two connectivity links
• Both remote and onboard service available (24/7)
• The connection is spread out over different base stations
• The harbors or home ports are connected via VPN or MPLS on fixed lines
